In early 2022, GAADI officially announced that global membership had exceeded 1,500, with coverage expanding to 58 countries and regions and more than 30 disciplines, including engineering and technology, medicine and health, law and policy, business management, education and humanities, social sciences, and arts creation. From dozens of founding members when the membership system launched in 2017, to 500 members in 2019, and 1,000 in 2021, Alliance membership has maintained steady growth.
By region, Asia-Pacific members account for the largest share at about 52%, with the largest numbers from mainland China, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and Japan. Europe accounts for 23%, mainly from the United Kingdom, Germany, and the Netherlands. North America and Latin America together account for 17%, while the Middle East and Africa account for about 8% but have shown the fastest growth in the past two years. By discipline, engineering and technology, business management, and medicine and health are the three largest application areas.
Notably, new applications from law and public governance, as well as education and humanities, have increased significantly in the past two years, showing that more professionals outside science and engineering are paying attention to international academic credential development. In early 2022, the Global Academic Research and Development Center (GARDC) formally launched its highest expert position, Distinguished Expert, and issued invitations to the first qualified professionals. The first invited Distinguished Experts numbered 12 and came from engineering technology, medicine, law, business, and education.
The Alliance Presidium stated that the continued growth of membership is the strongest market validation of the Alliance's service value. In the future, while maintaining rigorous review standards, GAADI will further improve its service system, shorten processing cycles, and increase ongoing support for members so every certified member can continue to benefit from the GAADI academic development ecosystem.
